A superb day of athletics for our Year 7 & 8 pupils at Kings Park last week.

46 pupils took part in the annual PEDSSA ‘Town Sports’ event, competing against all our local schools. Thanks to the efforts of all team members, some of whom had not competed before, we are thrilled to announce that both the Year 7 and 8 combined teams (boys and girls) came first!

We had some outstanding performances, with special mentions to the following. Yr 7 pupils: Florence, 2nd in discus; Tami 2nd in 100m; Will, 1st in discus; Boys relay team 3rd; Yr 8 pupils: Kayla 2nd in 200m and 1st in high jump; Elsie and Freya, 2nd and 3rd in hurdles; girls relay team, 2nd; Florence, 1st in 800m (even with an injured eye); Harley a very close 2nd in the 100m and long jump; Ayaan, 2nd in 200m; Josh, 3rd in discus; Jacob, 3rd in 1500m; Harry 1st and Will 3rd in hurdles; Elliott, 1st in both 300m and triple jump; boys relay team, 2nd.

Above all it was fantastic to see so many of our pupils enjoying the opportunity to represent Allenbourn and interacting with the other staff and students at the event. We are very proud of them for representing AMS so well and for their outstanding performances.
