The pupils from metal detecting club have already found some exciting items. Among the finds so far ...

• a 1978 1 pence piece, a 1989 20 pence piece
• various modern coins (including a 1 pence, 2 pence, 10 pence and £1 coin)
• a silver ring, an old brass/bronze brooch back
• air rifle pellets and fishing weights, various old screws and bolts
• a LOT of beer-related junk including beer bottle tops and cans, lots of foil and lots of bits of old aluminium drink cans.

Pupils started to learn how to pinpoint objects when we buried a few copper coins in the long jump pit and have now graduated to exploring the field, taking care to leave the area as clean and flat as they found it. We're still hoping for the Wimborne hoard!
